Nahouri/Commune of Tiébélé: The Lions Club Ouagadougou Phénix 50 plants 600 seedlings in its grove

The Lions Club Ouagadougou Phénix 50 of District 403 A3, organized, on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in the commune of Tiébélé, province of Nahouri, a series of charitable activities, as part of the program of the Governor of the district. He planted 600 fruit plants in his grove. The Lions Club Ouagadougou Phénix 50, once again sacrificed itself to tradition this year by traveling to the commune of Tiébélé, the city of a thousand hills, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, to carry out a series of activities.Reforestation, vision screening, donation of glasses, school supplies and a statutory meal filled the day.Indeed, it has been more than ten years since the Lions Club Ouagadougou Phénix made Tiébélé a land of hospitality as part of their annual activities. The first act of this outing in the town was to screen the eyesight of more than a hundred people and to make a free donation of a hundred corrective glasses for the benefit of those screened. The other members of the club headed for the village of Lo -longo, located about ten kilometers east of Tiébélé-centre, where a major mobilization awaited them. They were welcomed to the rhythm of local music with traditional chiefs and visited their grove set up about ten years ago.Every year, more than 600 fruit trees have been planted in this grove. It was with great enthusiasm that the Chief of the village of Lô-longo received the delegation of Lions. For him, friendship dates back a very long time and the musical expressions of the day bear witness to this."I can tell you that this grove benefits the populations. Every year the school supplies that they come to give to the students relieve the parents a lot. Because there are parents who cannot give notebooks to the children in time for them to start classes," said the customary authority. The president of the 2024-2025 term of the club, Grégoire Attiou, said that they were more than satisfied."We come to plant the seedlings and the protection is ensured by the village. We feel that there is real enthu siasm behind this activity because the success rate of the trees testifies to the interest that the entire village, led by its chief, has for the activities that we organize here. I think that this partnership will continue," said Mr. Attiou.Source: Burkina Information Agency
