Namentenga/Burkina-Niger Episcopal Conference: Christians called to pray for peace

The Christian faithful of the Family of God Church of the Sainte Maria Goretti parish of Boulsa, in accordance with the call of the Burkina-Niger Episcopal Conference, began this Thursday September 12 to Saturday September 14, 2024, prayers for peace in Burkina, Niger and the sub-region following the resurgence of terrorist attacks in recent months.Ordinary mass, rosary, penitential fasting, confession in church are, among others, the actions planned during the first 2 days of the prayer program by the Christian faithful of the Family of God church of the parish of Saint Maria Goretti of Boulsa, from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 September 2024.The third day, Saturday, September 14, will be dedicated to an ordinary mass, a prayer around the cross for Burkina and the blessing of the assembly by the celebrant with the cross.The letter from the Burkina-Niger Episcopal Conference addressed to the Father Bishops of the regional area on September 6, 2024 follows the pastoral letter of August 25 from the Father Bishop of the diocesan family of Kaya, Monsignor Théophile Naré.He invited the Christian faithful to prayer from August 28 to 29 because according to him, "to implore the grace of the conversion of hearts and for the reparation of all the attacks on human life, all the innocent blood shed like water by men."These initiatives come after the massacre of civilian and military populations by terrorists on August 24, 2024 in Barsalogho, a commune in the province of Sanmatenga, in the Centre-North region.The parish priest, Constant Ouédraogo, asked the Christian faithful to take an active part in the program established for this purpose.
