Namentenga: COPROSUR Holds Its First Ordinary Session of the Year

Namentenga: The president of the Provincial Council for Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation (COPROSUR) of Namentenga, Adama Conseiga, chaired the work of the 1st ordinary session of COPROSUR. The session focused on the interventions of humanitarian partners in the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session allowed members to present the Project to Support Internally Displaced Persons and Strengthen the Resilience of Host Municipalities (PDICA). This was aimed at fostering a better understanding of its composition and operation while formulating recommendations to enhance the humanitarian response to internally displaced persons.

COPROSUR, a social and humanitarian organization, is tasked with disaster prevention and managing emergency relief and rehabilitation. Presentations by the provincial director in charge of humanitarian action, Nor¨gma Ou©draogo, High Commissioner Adama Conseiga, and PDICA technical advisor, Joel Sakand©, were followed by discussions. Participants gained insights into the statutes and regulations of the PDICA project.

Prefects and presidents of the special delegations of the municipalities presented the humanitarian situation in their respective areas. Consensus emerged that the commune of Z©gu©d©guin requires increased food support and deserves special attention.

Participants also discussed the acquisition of statistical data from CONASUR and proper conduct during rain. They urged the construction company responsible for the Boulsa Kalwartenga road to expedite completion. Development partners were asked to facilitate departmental emergency relief and rehabilitation councils (CODESUR) and support young artisans and traders in economic recovery and cereal product supply.

Key players in the province shared information on the free distribution of mosquito nets, proper conduct during rain, the Rayimba project launch in Boulsa's secondary schools, and preparations for the 26th edition of the National Culture Week, Bobo 2026.
