Namentenga National Tree Day: Twenty Species of Plants Planted in Boulsa

Namentenga: The vital forces of the Namentenga province planted around twenty species of trees in the grove of the canton chief of Boulsa, Naaba Sonr©, during the 7th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA), referred to as "Patriotic Hour to Green Faso." This event took place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, marking an important step in the region's reforestation efforts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative was spearheaded by the active forces of Namentenga province, who were committed to enhancing the green cover in Burkina Faso. Adama Conseiga, the head of the Namentenga province, expressed appreciation for the dedication shown by the participants and encouraged the local population to continue their efforts throughout the reforestation campaign.

Oscar Kabr©, the provincial director of Water and Forests, mentioned that 30 minutes were allocated to the tree-planting demonstration, with significant participation from local authorities. The High Commissioner and other dignitaries each took part by planting a tree, demonstrating their support for the initiative.

Various species, including mango trees, baobabs, and acacias, were planted and secured with protective fencing after discussions on plant availability in the province. The Nongtaaba sports association also contributed by planting trees at the Boulsa technical high school, while Jean Paul Sawadogo, president of the municipal youth council, along with his peers, planted 100 seedlings in his grove. Additionally, Ini Kambou took the opportunity to plant a mango tree in his courtyard.

Adama Conseiga, the High Commissioner of Namentenga, acknowledged the citizens' patriotic spirit in combating desertification and creating green spaces. He urged the community to ensure the seedlings' survival and growth, and for nurserymen to provide more plants in the market square.
