- A government delegation led by the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly went, on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, to meet with the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) as well as the vital forces of the commune of Tanghin Dassouri (Kadiogo province) and the province of Kourwéogo (Boussé).In addition to the Minister of Defense, the delegation was composed of the Ministers of Humanitarian Action Nandy Somé/Diallo, of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Kargougou and of the Secretary General of the Government and the Council of Ministers Mathias Traoré.The members of the Government went to convey the congratulations and encouragement of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to the fighting forces engaged in securing the country.At each stage, the head of the delegation, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly called for cohesion, solidarity and collaboration between the FDS, between the FDS and the VDP and be tween the FDS, VDP and the population."We must fight this fight together without distinction of body. Let us work hand in hand" indicated the Minister of State.He encouraged them to continue the fight for a true sovereignty of the country.With the various driving forces, in frank and direct language, the ministers presented the vision of the Head of State and the presidential initiatives.They invited the populations to collaborate with the FDS and the VDP and to support them in their missions to secure the territory. In this respect, their support in the construction of fortifications and trenches is highly anticipated.The government delegation also advocated, during the various meetings, the culture of living together, dialogue, social cohesion and solidarity, a guarantee of a peaceful Burkina Faso.Regarding the situation in Barsalogho, the Minister of Defense called on the population to distance themselves from fake news relayed by social networks."This situation should not bring us down. The enemy knows that we are on the right path. That is why he is seeking to create a diversion," he said.On this occasion, the driving forces of Tanghin Dassouri and Kourwéogo listed a series of concerns.In this regard, Kassoum Coulibaly and his peers reassured the populations that they will faithfully transmit the grievances to the right people.
