Parents Mobilize to Create School Field for Canteen Initiative

Djibasso: Parents of students at the Ouroko school came together on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, to establish a school field under a presidential initiative aimed at enhancing the local canteen and the well-being of students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative saw the active involvement of the Parents' Association (APE) and mother educators, who coordinated the planting of peanuts and beans on a one and a half hectare field. This effort is part of a broader presidential initiative that focuses on promoting the endogenous canteen to ensure the well-being of schoolchildren.

Anatole Dembel©, the APE president of the Ouroko school, expressed his appreciation for the strong participation of parents. He highlighted the commitment of the Ouroko community and the positive impact such initiatives could have on the lives of students.

The efforts at Ouroko school are part of a wider movement within the Basic Education District (CEB) of Djibasso. Other schools in the district, including those in Ki©, Manidara, and Djibasso B, are also participating in similar initiatives, demonstrating a collective commitment to improving school nutrition and student welfare.
