‘Patriotic Time to Green Faso’ Initiative Sees Planting of Over 500 Trees in Tuy

Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Tuy Province, Issiaka Segda, attended the launch ceremony of the "Patriotic Hour to Green Faso" operation in Hound© on Saturday, as part of the 7th edition of National Tree Day (JNA). On this occasion, the Forces vives planted more than 500 trees on the site of the Enfance Jeunesse Int¨gre Association.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the province's vital forces responded to the call of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, by organizing a tree-planting session. The operation was launched by the High Commissioner, Issiaka Segda, and participants mobilized to plant more than 500 seedlings.

These are mainly medicinal and local species such as the cailc©drat, the baobab, the n©r©, the morula, the tamarind tree, the jujube tree, the acacia, the cashew tree, and vines. According to the High Commissioner, this operation initiated by the President of Faso is part of the 7th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA). He said the goal is to plant 5 million trees in one hour across the country.

"We must work towards a healthy and green environment," he said. He invited everyone to plant at least one tree and take care of it. The provincial authority also expressed its gratitude to the Association Enfance Jeunesse Int¨gre which made the site that hosted the activity available.
