Poni: Launch of the ‘Patriotic Hour to Green Faso’

Poni: The courtyard of the Southwest Regional Council served as a tree-planting site as part of the 'Patriotic Hour to Green Faso' initiative, launched by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©. The event, chaired by the region's governor, Mr. Siaka Barro, brought together several local authorities. According to the governor, this initiative responds to the call of the Head of State, who set the goal of planting at least five million trees across the country, between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. this Saturday, June 21. He praised the strong mobilization of the population and gave instructions to ensure rigorous monitoring of the seedlings.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Regional Director of the Environment, Lieutenant Colonel of Water and Forests Fo© Andr© Joseph Bonaventure Traor©, indicated that the Southwest region plans to plant approximately 500,000 trees across its four provinces during this symbolic hour. He specified that the seedlings planted include baobabs, n©r©s, shea trees, and tamarind trees.

"We call on everyone to respect the instructions and good planting practices, in order to achieve a success rate of between 80 and 90%," he urged.
