Prime Minister Ou©draogo Extends Solidarity to Vatican Following Pope Francis’s Passing

Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo expressed, this Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Apostolic Nunciature, Embassy of the Holy See in Burkina Faso, the compassion and solidarity of the Burkinabe people to the Vatican City State and the Catholic community, following the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.

According to Burkina Information Agency, received by the Charg© d'affaires acting as interim of the Apostolic Nunciature, Monsignor Johny Boya, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, orally, affirmed, in this painful circumstance, his "deep emotion" and "deep sadness" following the death of the Sovereign Pontiff, while praying for his repose in God.

In the book of condolences, he paid tribute to the memory of "a man of faith and love" who "dedicated his life to the Lord and to the Church, the family of God."

The Head of Government also recalled that the late Bishop of Rome always had the right words to strengthen the faith and resilience of the most deprived populations throughout the world.

"Pope Francis has shown touching solidarity with Burkina Faso in its fight against terrorism and for sovereignty," he wrote in the book of condolences.

This attention is the Nation's recognition of His Holiness Pope Francis, who has continued to keep Burkina Faso in his prayers.

In return, the interim Charg© d'affaires, Monsignor Johny Boya, expressed his gratitude to the Head of the Burkinabe Government for this mark of solidarity.

The Prime Minister's visit to the Apostolic Nunciature comes after the Head of State's message of condolences following the announcement of the death of Pope Francis on Monday, April 21, 2025.
