Yako: A delegation of provincial authorities, led by the High Commissioner of Passor© province, Daouda Sangar©, visited the royal palace of Yako to present New Year wishes to His Majesty, Naba-Djigu¨md© of Yako. This ceremony took place during the Napoussoum festival, celebrated at the onset of each year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Napoussoum festival mobilized the nine communes of the province along with the local sons and daughters. During this event, the administrative authorities, headed by High Commissioner Daouda Sangar©, expressed their New Year wishes for health, prosperity, peace, and a successful reign to His Majesty Naba-Djigu¨md©.
On behalf of the province's constituted bodies, High Commissioner Daouda Sangar© expressed gratitude to His Majesty for his effective governance over the past year. He also requested support from traditional dignitaries for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP).
The provincial authority expressed appreciation to the country's top officials for their continuous support towards the FDS and VDP. They invited traditional custodians to back initiatives aimed at combating terrorism.
In response, His Majesty, the Chief of Yako, offered blessings and gratitude to all communities in Passor© and Burkina Faso. Naba-Djigu¨md© acknowledged the spirits of the ancestors for the favorable rainfall the country received last year and sought their continued support for the return of peace.
The customary authority commended the Transitional government's efforts and emphasized the importance of returning to foundational values for effective crisis resolution in Burkina Faso.
Nationals of Passor© attending the ceremony came to pay their respects to His Majesty and seek his blessings. Among them, Yassia Yelkouni called for the community's collective effort to develop the province and prayed for divine strength and resources for the Transition authorities to overcome terrorism.
