Repatriation, procurement and fraud on the menu of Burkinabe dailies

This Thursday's Burkinabè dailies echo the seizure of chicha and meat unfit for consumption, the adoption of a decree for more speed in the award of public contracts and the repatriation of 250 Burkinabe from Ghana.

Today in Faso, a private daily, headlines: “Burkinabe expelled from Ghana: A government delegation to the rescue”, where the public daily Sidwaya lets read: “Commune de Pô: 250 Burkinabè repatriated from Ghana”.

The newspaper cited second informs that on July 11, 2023, 250 Burkinabè were repatriated from Ghana and welcomed to School A of Dakola in the commune of Pô by the local authorities.

According to Sidwaya, the Burkinabè government dispatched two ministers to the site on Wednesday July 12, 2023.

They are the ministers in charge of humanitarian action Nandy Somé/Diallo and the security delegate Mahamadou Sana.

Still according to Sidwaya, the Minister of Humanitarian Action Nandy Somé indicated that these Burkinabè were repatriated without any minimum (clothing, food and money) and without any prior consultation and added that basic necessities will be sent to them.

The newspaper adds that according to the social action services 85 women, 35 men and 130 children have been registered.

From another angle, the private daily newspaper Le Pays displays: "Specific projects: the government adopts a decree for more speed in the award of contracts".

The newspaper informs that according to the spokesman of the government, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the president of the transition, head of state, captain Ibrahim Traoré chaired on Wednesday July 12, 2023 the council of ministers which examined several files submitted to its agenda and made important decisions on the conduct of the transition.

According to the newspaper, under the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Prospective, the council adopted a draft decree on the procedures for awarding public contracts within the framework of the implementation of specific projects.

On the same subject, the public daily Sidwaya adds that for the Deputy Minister in charge of the budget, Fatoumata Bako/Traoré, the adoption of this decree will make it possible to ensure speed in the implementation of projects in a difficult security context with its corollary of humanitarian crisis.

In another section, L'Express du Faso, a private daily published in Bobo-Dioulasso, headlines: "Bobo municipal police: meat unfit for consumption and shisha seized"

The newspaper indicates that on July 11, 2023, following a denunciation, the hygiene and noise pollution service of the national police of Bobo Dioulasso got their hands on a large quantity of meat unfit for consumption.

According to the newspaper, on Sunday July 9, Seydou Coulibaly's men via the sound hygiene service raided the arteries of arrondissements 2 and 7 for a mission to fight against the consumption of chicha.

L'Express du Faso reports that this mission is part of the implementation of municipal decree number 00-2021 of May 07, 2021 prohibiting the consumption of shisha in public places in the municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso.

According to him in the end, the mission made it possible to get hold of various shisha materials.
