Dori: The Ministry of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training held a meeting in Dori to elucidate the purpose, procedures, and implications of the newly instituted compulsory patriotic immersion program for future high school graduates in the Sahel region. This initiative is set to be a requirement for candidates of the 2025 baccalaureate session.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Secondary Education, Hyppolite Bassol©, stated that the meeting aimed to furnish students with comprehensive information regarding the compulsory patriotic immersion. This program is designed to provide graduates with physical, civic, and moral training, fostering a sense of patriotism, discipline, and self-reliance.
Bassol© emphasized that the immersion is not equivalent to military training and does not involve deploying students to conflict zones. Instead, it focuses on nurturing a sense of national responsibility and commitment.
The Secretary General of the Sahel region, Auguste Kinda, highlighted the significance of this program in shaping a new model of Burkinabe citizen, one that is aware of their civic duties and dedicated to national values. He encouraged students to view the program as an opportunity for personal growth and national service.
Students Christelle Coulibaly and Abdel Yassa Kabor© expressed support for the initiative, acknowledging its relevance in a time of youth challenges in Burkina Faso. They pledged to engage actively in the training and adhere to its guidelines.
