Sandbondtenga/Grand Concert ‘D Bayira Yinga’: Father Roland Calls for Unity and Social Cohesion

Kaya: The slam priest, Abbot Roland organized on Saturday, August 16, 2025 in Kaya, the first edition of the great concert "D Bayira Yinga" or "In the name of the Fatherland", dedicated to the promotion of peace and social cohesion by mobilizing the faithful from different religious denominations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the big concert called "d Bayira yinga" brought together on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Kaya multipurpose hall, men and women of all origins and religious faiths around the same ideal: unity and living together.

The concert began with a solemn tribute to the victims of terrorism, marked by the chorus singing the Victory Hymn and a minute of silence in memory of the compatriots who fell under the bullets of terrorists. After this moment of reflection, traditional and religious leaders kicked off the concert with prayers and blessings.

The Bishop of Kaya, patron of the event, represented by Father Roger Bamogo, parish priest of the Saint Martin military parish of Tours, welcomed this initiative, emphasizing that it was a "night to remind us that our differences are an opportunity." For him, this great concert embodies the hope for a common future based on mutual respect and solidarity.

According to the Secretary General of Sandbontenga Province, Fasnewend© Ou©draogo, representing the governor, this initiative is in line with the government's policy of ensuring that people can live in harmony.

In their addresses, co-sponsors and guests of honor welcomed the idea of ??bringing together different religious denominations around a common ideal: peace.

Promoter Father Sawadogo believes the concert is part of a process of fighting terrorism and national solidarity. "We want to thank all those who fight day and night for the homeland and join our prayers for the country," he said.

Throughout the evening, a host of artists, priests, pastors and other public figures from Kaya and elsewhere offered songs carrying messages of peace, social cohesion and living together, thus captivating fans and music lovers.

"I feel very good, overjoyed. We see that the room was filled with people who came from everywhere to support the initiative. Thank you all for this mobilization," declared Father Sawadogo, visibly satisfied with this first edition.

The first edition of "D Bayira Yinga" was co-sponsored by the Honorable Sayouba Ou©draogo, former Member of the National Assembly, and Mrs. Sawadogo/Ouedraogo Somb© Pascaline. It also featured guests of honor such as the CEO of the TV5 group, Moussa Zamtako, and the Honorable Dr. Rasmane Daniel Sawadogo.
