Sebba Teachers Return to School Amid Security Efforts

Sebba: Teachers in the Basic Education District (CEB) of Sebba returned to school on October 1, 2025, reaffirming their commitment to providing quality education to children in Yagha province, AIB noted.

According to Burkina Information Agency, gathered in their respective schools, the teachers displayed unwavering determination to continue their mission. For Hindatou Samboal, principal of the Sebba B school, "we are here because duty calls us."

She stressed that the teaching staff remains more mobilized than ever to support students, while expressing her gratitude to the supervisors, the educational hierarchy, as well as the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their efforts to protect the population.

For his part, Oumarou Hamidou, named best teacher of the 2024-2025 school year, emphasized the continued support Yagha educators receive. "We responded because we know we are not alone. The population and the authorities are with us," he said.

Also recalling the award for the best resilient teacher of Liptako (award received from the President of Faso), Mr. Ly Abdoulaye sees it as a national recognition of the teaching profession. He invited his colleagues to remain "committed and patriotic" teachers, determined to support children, the future of the country, despite the security challenges.
