Ouagadougou: Senior diplomatic officials from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger began preparatory work this Friday in Bamako ahead of the meeting of foreign ministers of the Confederation of Sahel States,Over the course of two days, they will examine draft texts relating to the Confederation's diplomacy pillar, as well as actions and measures relating to the coordination of diplomatic action in the Confederation's relations with its bilateral and multilateral partners.In his opening speech, the Secretary General of the Malian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Seydou Coulibaly, invited the participants to work in a spirit of solidarity and fraternity, with a view to efficiently implementing the conclusions of the last summit in Niamey.The Bamako meeting is part of the operationalization of the Confederation of Sahel States, enacted by the Heads of State of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger, during the first summit of Heads of State of the Alliance of Sahel States held on July 6, 2024 in Ni amey in the Republic of Niger.Source: Burkina Information Agency
