On occasion, around a hundred beneficiaries of the project received various materials to initiate or strengthen their income-generating activities. After the TIN FI project, designed to contribute to the socio-economic empowerment of internally displaced women and girls, the TODI-YABA Association has just initiated a new project which pursues the same objectives as the previous one.Called TIN TODI which means mutual aid in gulmantchema and co-financed at 57 million CFA francs by the 'Francophonie avec Elles' fund and the association including 47 million in subsidy from the main donor and approximately 11 million in contribution from the designer, this new project has was launched on June 13, 2024, in Fada N'Gourma. Lasting 12 months, with an additional support period of 6 months, it is implemented in the communes of Fada N'Gourma, Diapangou and Diabo and affects 160 girls and women including 80% IDPs and 20 % of vulnerable hosts. In addition, the project intends to strengthen their theoretical, practical and emotional skills in conducting income-generating activities.According to the TIN TODI project manager, Abdoul Karim Thiombiano, this initiative takes into account five areas of small business. These are, he cited, saponification, the processing of soya, soumbala, peanuts and catering (rice, pancakes, cakes, traditional dishes, etc.). He indicated that the project also affects trades such as sewing, hairdressing, weaving, knitting, mechanics and welding.'We therefore retained 15 people in the field of saponification, 10 for soya, 13 for soumbala, 52 for catering, 20 for peanuts and 50 for small trades. Which gives a total of 160 beneficiaries,' said the executive secretary of the TODI-YABA Association, Ernest Natama.More than 100 installation kits given to beneficiariesTo be more coherent, he added, the activities of TIN TODI, inspired by the previous project, were grouped into four large families.' First we have the theoretical capitalization activities, then the practical capitalization activities, then the provision of kits and installation materials and finally the monitoring and structuring activities of women and girls into simplified cooperative societies', he listed. For Abdoul Karim Thiombiano, it is precisely to perpetuate the investments that the association had the idea of ??grouping them into cooperative companies. This, he explained, is about ensuring that women and girls continue their income-generating activities, even after the project. 'In reality, we want them to become real entrepreneurs who are able to employ other people,' he said before adding that the beneficiaries will not be left to their own devices.Indeed, he said, in addition to developing action plans for each cooperative, staff will provide coaching in the field to support them with sound advice. The occasion being the thief, the TODI-YABA Association today handed out equipment and installation kits to around a hundred be neficiaries operating in the field of agro-food processing.'The 50 other beneficiaries currently being placed under the tutoring system will receive their kits at the end,' he announced.
