Sourou Province Achieves 96.14% Success Rate in 2025 Primary School Certificate Exam

Sourou: The province of Sourou, located in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, has achieved a remarkable success rate of 96.14% in the 2025 Primary School Certificate (CEP) exam, as announced on Saturday, June 14, 2025. A total of 1,141 candidates participated in the exam across the four Basic Education Districts (CEB) in the province, with 1,097 students successfully obtaining their first school diplomas.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the CEBs of Lanko© and To©ni, which hosted juries this year after several years of closure, recorded success rates of 91.42% and 100%, respectively, with 96 and 20 students passing the exam. This high achievement in the province is attributed to the dedication and commitment of the education stakeholders involved.

Aldjouma Soro, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Sourou, emphasized the collective effort behind the impressive results. Soro stated, "This result that we have achieved is due to the work of very committed and determined actors to combat ignorance."

Siaka Boro, the first vice-president of the special delegation of Tougan, extended his congratulations to the provincial director responsible for primary education and his team for their hard work. He also acknowledged the police for their support during the school exams.
