Manga: The populations and constituted bodies of the Center-South organized a sports walk followed by an aerobics session for fitness in preparation for the national reforestation campaigns, which will commence on June 14, 2025. The event will feature the launch of a medicinal plant grove in the region by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the governor of the Centre-South region, Yvette Nacoulma, led the group of over 200 marchers through the streets of Manga, culminating in an aerobics session at the city's Place de la Nation. Participants hailed from various socio-professional categories, demonstrating broad community involvement in the initiative.
Governor Nacoulma emphasized the theme of the march, stating, "The Centre-South region is mobilizing for reforestation and the protection of forest resources." She highlighted the region's dedication to the success of the 7th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA) and the forthcoming 2025 reforestation campaign. Nacoulma expressed readiness to host these significant events, praising the community's enthusiastic participation.
In anticipation of the medicinal plant grove launch in Guiba, Nacoulma urged local bodies to ensure strong participation and ownership of the activity. She also highlighted the ambitious goal of planting 5 million trees in 60 minutes on June 21, 2025, during the JNA celebrations.
Further supporting the reforestation efforts, Governor Nacoulma announced a region-wide sanitation day on June 12, 2025, to improve living environments, aligning with President Traor©'s vision for environmental stewardship.
