Sunni Movement in Zondoma Establishes New Provincial Office

Zondoma: The new provincial office of the Sunni movement of Zondoma was officially installed on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Gourcy, and will be chaired by El Adj Moussa Savadogo for a three-year term. The installation ceremony was conducted by the regional office from Ouahigouya and witnessed the presence of administrative, customary, and religious authorities from the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the secretary general of the regional office, Hassane Kiemd©, stated that the appointment of the 21 members of the new office was the outcome of detailed work performed by an ad hoc committee formed by the community for this purpose. The office, now officially in place, will manage the community's affairs with guidance from six advisors over the next three years.

The newly appointed president, El Adj Moussa Savadogo, expressed the office's commitment to tackle current challenges that include mosque management, education, training, and dawa. He emphasized the importance of collaboration to achieve the community's objectives and affirmed the office's readiness to support the State amidst a challenging security and humanitarian context.

Ouss©ni Zida, the representative of the regional president, commended the outgoing office for its accomplishments and encouraged the community to support the new team in its endeavors. The new office succeeds the leadership of El Adj Abdoul Salam Ou©draogo, who led the Sunni movement of Zondoma for eight years.
