The stakeholders of the Tapoa health system held, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Diapaga, the very first session of the year of the District Health Council.Chaired by High Commissioner René Karambiri, this session was attended by members of the District Management Team, decentralized State services, head nurses, military and paramilitary authorities, customary and religious authorities, NGOs and partner associations as well as the coordination of CSOs and OBCs of Tapoa. The first of its kind for the year 2024, this session allowed stakeholders in the Tapoa health system to discuss with participants population health indicators, take stock of activities over the past semester and advocate for certain actions with the authorities. This is why, in his speech at the opening ceremony of the session, the Chief Medical Officer of the District, Dr. Wend-Kuni Abdoul Aziz Badini, declared that this session of the District Health Council is a stopover that allows us to evaluate past actions, learn lessons and prepa re for the future as best we can.Reinforcing these remarks, Maïmouna Thiombiano, representing the High Commissioner, stressed that this session is a framework for exchanging experiences and advocacy to achieve the ideal, namely the well-being of the 778,762 people who make up the population of the health zone of the District. For four hours, the participants worked to understand the indicators of the Diapaga Medical Center with Surgical Unit, in particular the vaccination indicators. It emerges from these presentations that the indicators allow for legitimate satisfaction, despite the numerous problems linked to the mobility of agents, insufficient staff, the closure of nearly 8 CSPS out of the 44 in the Diapaga Health District, the shortage of medicines and consumables, etc.The opportunity was given to make a plea to the authorities concerning the feeding of agents, the reopening of CSPS closed due to the security crisis, the mobility of agents from still functional training courses to the CMA of Diapa ga, the return of agents blocked in Fada due to lack of logistical means, as well as support for resilient agents, etc.Source: Burkina Information Agency
