Boulgou: The Tenkodogo Regional Hospital Center (CHR) launched its Open Days under the theme: "Provision of person-centered care: commitment of health workers in a context of security challenges." For three days, the population participated in free screening sessions, conferences, and a day of excellence dedicated to the distinction of several services.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Tenkodogo, Ounanili Thionbiano, highlighted that the Open Days aim to bring health workers closer to beneficiaries and promote a better understanding of the services offered.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Kargougou, noted the progress made by the institution, especially the capability to perform total hip replacements in Tenkodogo, a procedure previously reserved for major hospitals.
Dr. Kargougou reaffirmed the government's commitment to train 5,000 specialists by 2034 through the "1000 times 5" program.
The patron of the Open Days, Dr. Aminata Zerb³ Sabane, stressed the importance of patient involvement in treatment decisions and urged health workers to adapt practices to the security realities and needs of vulnerable populations.
The head of the nephrology department, Dr. Palm Yelli Arlette Flore/Kabore, was recognized for quality hemodialysis services, while in surgery, Dr. Edmond Tapsoba was acknowledged for his team's work.
For local and health authorities, these open days help to strengthen trust between caregivers and users and to promote the commitment of medical staff.
"Health remains a major priority for the government," recalled the Minister of Health, Dr. Robert Lucien Kargougou, inviting the staff of the Tenkodogo CHR to continue their efforts in serving the population.
