Ouagadougou: The Collective of Young Communicators of Burkina Faso (CJCB), with a membership of 300, marked its first anniversary at the Higher Council of Communication in Ouagadougou on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Officially established on June 22, 2024, CJCB is a non-profit association dedicated to aiding the professional integration of students and young graduates in the fields of communication, journalism, and marketing. The organization aims to enhance members' skills and promote their expertise to various institutions, businesses, and media outlets.
According to Burkina Information Agency, CJCB President Gustave Konat© highlighted the significance of this milestone, stating that the collective has become a platform for expression, learning, and opportunities. The event featured two keynote presentations focusing on the theme: "Communication and journalism: saturated sectors or breeding grounds for untapped opportunities?" Boris Anicet Zonou, a communications trainer, led the first panel, stressing the importance of specialization in the evolving field of communication. The second panel, led by Bass©ratou Kindo, director of the Mousso News media outlet, emphasized the potential within journalism for innovation and content creation.
Throughout its first year, CJCB has undertaken several initiatives, including practical training sessions in writing, photography, content creation, communication strategy, and personal branding. The collective also organized orientation days for new communication students and engaged in community activities to foster cohesion and sharing among members.
Gustave Konat© called on inactive members to become more engaged, emphasizing that CJCB offers a wealth of opportunities beyond its digital presence. He expressed a vision for the collective to grow into one of the largest platforms for skills development and professional integration in Burkina Faso.
