Niger, Mali and Burkina have not disappeared after breaking ties with France. For the first time in over 120 years, the Sahelians are now deciding freely, without the tutelage of France, which, just yesterday, was calling its obligated parties for clarifications in Pau.The failure of the Sahel states, brandished as a major risk by Franco-African analysts, is not on the agenda.The AES thus marks the end of an era.The allied states of the Sahel are now accountable only to themselves. They no longer need to certify their record to a third-party guardian power or receive directives from outside.Everyone will have seen it with their own eyes. The governments of the Sahel have not collapsed despite the political and diplomatic attacks orchestrated on both sides of the Mediterranean.On the contrary, the powers in place benefit from historical support from the population who accept the sacrifice necessary to win the fight for sovereignty, to win the fight against terrorism and against aggression of all kin ds.In the specific case of Burkina, young people remain constantly and spontaneously mobilized, some to ensure the stabilization of republican institutions, some to carry out civic actions, some to enlist in the combat forces.The population as a whole, young people, women and men, provide multifaceted support to help care for volunteers defending the homeland and families affected by the terrorist crisis.The Wahiyans, citizen watch organizations set up after the Koglweogo and the Dozos, provide their patriotic citizen participation, without expecting anything in return. Day and night, they watch over the populations and their property. In the cities and in the countryside, they watch over the rulers.Above all, there is the putting back in place of realities that until now were arranged in an inverted way. Democracy and human rights are now defended for the benefit of peace, security, social cohesion and the progress of peoples and not for the benefit of principles for principles' sake.In that they a re ready to die to defend the lives, lands and property of the Burkinabe, the fighting forces are finally recognized and supported as the first defenders of human rights.No one waits to be paid, by consulting or executing, before willing to put out the fire that consumes their loved ones and their property. Or at least, those who still bargain over their commitment are forced to turn to the exploiters of their countries.Moreover, all of Africa, kept in permanent daze, observes with great hope what is happening in the three countries of the Alliance of Sahel States.
