The authorities of Burkina Faso and Iran are studying the possibility of a total abolition of visas between the two countries, the AIB learned Wednesday in Ouagadougou, from a government source.During a weekly meeting chaired this Wednesday by the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachimsom Kyelem de Tambèla, reported on his friendship and working visit to Iran which resulted in discussions on the abolition of visas for the benefit of Burkinabè and Iranians.This visit, which took place between the end of April and the beginning of May 2024 in Tehran, made it possible to 'study the possibility of a total abolition of visas between our two countries', reports the government spokesperson, Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo , in the report of the meeting.'During his stay, His Excellency Apollinaire Joachimsom Kyelem de Tambèla visited industrial units in the fields of energy and defense,' adds Mr. Ouédraogo, Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Touri sm.Burkina Faso and Iran maintain increasingly strengthened relations in the economic, diplomatic and military fields.The two countries held their first joint cooperation session in June 2023 during which 8 agreements were signed, particularly in the areas of energy, urban planning, higher education, urban planning and construction.Source: Burkina Information Agency
