Tunis Stock Exchange turns red (-0.1%) Friday

Tunis: The benchmark index of the Tunis Stock Exchange turned red (-0.1%), closing Friday's session at 8,708.3 points after two consecutive sessions of gains. Trading activity remained relatively modest at TND 4.9 million, mainly focused on selected stocks such as Délice Holding and Attijari Bank. SMART Tunisia continued to dominate the market. The stock of the leading Tunisian IT distributor topped the trading board for the second consecutive session, rising 5.4% to TND 17.600 and attracting a total of TND 364,000 during the session. SOTETEL maintained its positive momentum. The telecommunications network specialist, which is part of the Tunisie Télécom group, rose by 1.9% to TND 4.200, attracting an inflow of TND 146,000 during the session. Euro-Cycles saw a reversal of fortunes. The bicycle manufacturer's stock fell by almost 5% to TND 12.450, placing it at the bottom of the Tunindex, with a volume of TND 358,000 traded during the session. Profit-taking seemed to have a negative impact on Attijari Ban k's share price. The Attijariwafa Bank Group subsidiary was one of the session's biggest losers, falling 2% to TND 48.000, with transactions totalling TND 691,000, or 14% of the market's activity. Délice Holding also ended the week on a gloomy note. The shares of the national champion in the dairy industry fell by 1.4% to TND 10.900, generating a substantial trading volume of TND 1.7 million.
