Tunisia, represented by the Health Ministry, is taking part in a regional meeting organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on December 11-13 in Egypt, aimed at devising a roadmap for the implementation of the Global Food Safety Strategy (2023-2030).The meeting aims in particular to step up coordination to set up mechanisms for implementing the One Health approach for food safety, in order to protect human, animal and environmental health from the health risks associated with animal diseases, bacterial resistance to antibiotics and food safety, according to a ministry press release.Tunisia is committed to implementing the global food safety strategy, to harnessing and identifying the necessary mechanisms, and to strengthening partnership between the various stakeholders based on risk assessment and management mechanisms that comply with international health regulations.
