The regional Youth of the Assemblies of God (JAD) of Houndé celebrated its 40th anniversary from September 18 to 21, 2024 in Houndé under the theme 'Let's make our talents bear fruit'.1984-2024, it has been 40 years since the Youth of the Assemblies of God (JAD) regional of Houndé has been serving the church. To celebrate the event, the young people gathered within the JAD of Houndé communed in edification and exaltation for 4 days (from September 18 to 21) around the theme "Let's make our talents bear fruit".The closing ceremony took place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the central church of the Assemblies of God in Houndé, in the presence of the top officials of the regional council of the AD, the national JAD and the administrative authorities.According to the secretary general of the regional JAD of Houndé, Sylvain Kiendrébéogo, in 40 years of existence, the JAD of Houndé has gained several achievements.He cited, among other things, evangelizations, construction of churches, strengthening of the movement, as well as social works through support for widows, orphans and needy people.The commemorative activities began with a Bible camp on the theme of the fortieth anniversary, which mobilized more than 400 young people.Sylvain Kiendrébéogo said he was satisfied with the mobilization of young people during the festivities. "Today, we have more than 1,000 people gathered in the church for the closing ceremony," he said.The president of the national JAD, Pastor Étienne Konkobo, congratulated the predecessors who, through their courage and vision, allowed the JAD to see the light of day and evolve.He welcomed the evolution in terms of organization of the youth of Houndé and gave thanks to God for its maturity. Furthermore, the president of the national JAD urged the youth to cultivate humility and respect for spiritual fathers.The deputy coordinator of center No. 1, Dr. Michel Ouédraogo, expressed his satisfaction with the mobilization of young people. However, he urged the youth to perseveran ce, unity and to count on the Lord to continue the work of their predecessors.For his part, the High Commissioner of the province of Tuy, Issiaka Segda, congratulated the JAD of Houndé for its 40 years spent in the service of God."We came to encourage them and wish them to celebrate the next 40 years," he said. The High Commissioner also made it clear that the youth are the spearhead of the country and that the authorities are counting on them for activities on the physical level but also on the spiritual level.The opportunity was also taken to present to the audience a bus acquired by the regional JAD of Houndé and to pray for peace and security in Burkina Faso.As a reminder, the region of the Assemblies of God churches in Houndé is made up of four sub-regions: Boni, Bouahoun, Houndé and Koumbia.
