Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kouleba submitted his resignation on Wednesday, two weeks after the Confederation "Alliance of Sahel States (AES)" referred the matter to the UN to "firmly condemn Ukraine's open and assumed support" for terrorism in the Sahel, reports the Russian Press Agency."The Rada (Ukrainian parliament) received a letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba regarding his resignation. This letter will be considered at one of the next plenary sessions," its speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk wrote on his Facebook page.The speaker of the Ukrainian parliament also posted a photocopy of the minister's resignation letter, which did not specify the reasons for the decision. The letter is dated September 4, the same source said.In an official letter dated August 19, 2024 addressed to the UN Security Council, the authorities of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger grouped within the Alliance of Sahel States (ESA) condemned "firmly the open and assumed support of the Ukrainian gove rnment" for terrorism in the Sahel.This denunciation follows the terrorist attack at the end of July in a Malian town called Tinzaouatène, whose Ukrainian support was publicly acknowledged by the Ukrainian ambassador to Senegal and a Ukrainian security official.The Confederation "Alliance of Sahel States (AES)" is a confederation created on July 6, 2024 between the three countries for integration in the security, diplomatic and economic fields.Source: Burkina Information Agency
