Singapore: The World Bank Group has appointed Carlos Felipe Jaramillo as Vice President for the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) Region, effective September 15, 2025. Jaramillo will be responsible for overseeing partnerships with 23 countries and managing an active portfolio exceeding US$32 billion.
According to World Bank, Jaramillo brings over two decades of proven leadership across multiple regions and global practices. This extensive experience positions him to drive the Bank's jobs-focused development agenda in one of the world's most dynamic regions.
Jaramillo will be based in Singapore, which will serve as the new regional hub for the EAP region. This decision aligns with the World Bank's decentralization strategy to be closer to clients and enhance service delivery.
