Yatenga: CNSS offers school kits and food to 140 people

The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) of the North handed over on September 13, 2024 in Ouahigouya, school kits and scholarships to 60 children in need as well as food to 80 widows, noted the AIB.The regional director of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) of the North, Sahad Estache Louré, handed over school kits and scholarships to orphans, vulnerable children, as well as food to social security beneficiaries. The ceremony was held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the headquarters of the regional directorate in Ouahigouya.This is a school kit consisting of notebooks, pens and school materials worth 25,000 CFA francs, as well as a scholarship of 100,000 CFA francs, which the general management of the CNSS, through its regional director of the North, Sahad Estache Louré, gave to the authorities for 60 orphans and vulnerable children in the North region. In addition to this, 80 widows each received a 50 kg bag of rice from the CNSS.For the regional director of the CNSS Nord, Sahad Estache Louré, "solidarity is a fundamental value for any society that wants to be sustainable. The CNSS of Burkina, strong in its role as a social welfare organization and in line with the spirit of solidarity outlined by the transitional government, which called for more mutual aid, solidarity and generosity among the Burkinabe to meet the challenges facing our country, has decided to offer better conditions for a peaceful return to school for our children and their parents." By this act, the CNSS remains faithful to its slogan "The virtues of solidarity", concluded the regional director.Lacinan Ouédraogo, speaking on behalf of the Governor of the Northern Region, warmly welcomed the CNSS through its management for this act of solidarity and patriotism. According to Mr. Ouédraogo, this kind of action should be encouraged, and this gesture will help relieve not only the students but also the parents of students in the Northern Region.In total, 60 students each received a school kit worth 25,000 CFA francs, accompanied by an envelope of 100,000 CFA francs. In addition, 80 widows also each received a 50 kg bag of rice.The spokesperson for the beneficiaries, Mélissa Farielle Sawadogo, a student in 1ère D class in Gourcy, expressed her joy in these terms: "I am very happy to receive this school kit and the scholarship. All our thanks go to the general management of the CNSS, who really thought of us. We are committed to giving the best of ourselves in order to satisfy our parents as well as the authorities of the CNSS."In addition to supporting the poor, including orphans, vulnerable children and widows in Ouahigouya, the CNSS has also brought smiles to other orphans and widows in four other regions of Burkina, including the Center, Hauts-Bassins, East and Boucle du Mouhoun.Nationally, a total of 600 scholarships and school kits were distributed to orphans and vulnerable children, as well as 600 50 kg bags of rice which were offered to 600 destitute social security beneficiaries.As a reminder, the regional management o f the CNSS of the North covers three regions: the North region (Ouahigouya, Yako, Gourcy), the Center-North (Kongoussi, Boulsa) and the Sahel (Dori).Source: Burkina Information Agency
