Yatenga: Harouna Ou©draogo was officially installed as the provincial director of Sports and Leisure in Yatenga by the Secretary General of the province, Pierre Claver Banc©, who represented the High Commissioner, during a ceremony in Ouahigouya.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Harouna Ou©draogo, formerly a teacher of Physical Education and Sports, was appointed by the Council of Ministers on June 18, 2025. His installation was witnessed by a large gathering of parents, friends, and staff from the Yatenga Provincial Directorate of Sports and Leisure, all showing their support for the new director.
In his address, Harouna Ou©draogo expressed gratitude for his new responsibilities and emphasized his commitment to professionalism. He called for the support of his colleagues to achieve the goals set for his tenure. Ou©draogo acknowledged the work of his predecessor and wished him success in future endeavors.
Pierre Claver Banc©, while recognizing the accomplishments of the outgoing director, urged the new director to address the challenges posed by the current security situation. Banc© assured Ou©draogo of the support from both the staff and regional authorities to ensure the success of his mission.
Having served as the interim provincial director since March 2022, Ou©draogo is now the second person to officially hold the position, following Hugues Diabri's tenure from 2018 to 2021. Ou©draogo expressed his dedication to being an active and responsive leader, emphasizing the importance of sports and leisure as tools for social reconstruction, public health, and peace in the province.
