Ouagadougou: The 4th edition of the Maracana tournament 'Vacances Passion Foot', organized by the radio station La Voix du Paysan and the Club Vacances Sport et Culture, reached its apotheosis on Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Ouahigouya. It was the Tonnerre FC team that was crowned champion for this 2024 edition.The curtains of the Maracana tournament called 'Vacances Passion Foot' closed on August 29 on the field of sector 2 of Ouahigouya.Organized by La Voix du Paysan radio and the Club Vacances Sport et Culture, this tournament aims to strengthen social ties between young people and promote social cohesion for the return of peace to Burkina Faso.The grand final, which was played on August 29 in the presence of regional authorities, pitted the Tonnerre FC team against that of Altesse FC. It ended with the victory of the Yellow and Greens (Tonnerre FC).For 50 minutes, or 2×25 minutes, the two teams separated with a score of one goal each. It was necessary to wait for the penalty shootout, and it was t he Tonnerre FC team that won by 3 to 2.The winner, Tonnerre FC, takes home the trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and the sum of 100,000 FCFA.As for the unfortunate finalist team, Altesse FC, it pockets the sum of 75,000 FCFA, a ball, and a set of jerseys.For the promoter of Vacances Passion Foot, Adama Sougouri, the results are very satisfactory."The aim of the tournament was to bring together young people to promote social cohesion and living together for the return of peace.From the start of the competition to the final, the message of peace was conveyed at the start of each match.We thank the authorities for their support, as well as the organizing committee for the efforts made to ensure success, despite the difficult context."A very welcome initiative according to the authorities of the Northern region."We are very moved to see young people strengthening their social ties through football.
