The provincial directorate of preschool, primary and non-formal education (DPEPPNF) of Ziro hosted, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the official launch of the educational conferences of education stakeholders at the preschool and primary level in the province of Ziro. It was High Commissioner Saïba Zoromé who gave the starting signal alongside DPEPPNF Sidbwendin Compaoré.The Burkinabe education system has been in search of quality for some time. Hence the government's commitment to a vast project of curricular reform of basic education since 2013.Those involved in implementing this reform, such as classroom staff and educational supervisors, must update themselves to properly apply these new curricula.The educational conferences of recent years are real capacity-building sessions for teachers in order to better succeed in the implementation of these curricula, indicated DPEPPNF Sidbwendin Compaoré.The theme chosen at the preschool level is: 'The generalization of new curricula in preschool, analysis of disciplinary fields, difficulties encountered and perspectives'.Through communications, group work and plenary sessions, the participants, who are early childhood educators and monitors, will spend four days analyzing the different curricula, identifying the difficulties encountered in practice and proposing solutions.As for primary school practitioners, they will discover, during this conference, the new curricula for elementary courses (CE). They will therefore examine the programs, the support tools, the timetables, the monthly distributions and the learning integration situations.High Commissioner Saïba Zoromé, in his official launch speech, welcomed the effective holding of these educational conferences in his province, despite the security and humanitarian challenges. He urged teachers to fully invest in the work in order to identify prospects for improving the content of curricula to improve the quality of education for students.In his opening speech at the pedagogical conference of primary school teachers in his commune, the president of the special delegation of Sapouy, Ourobè Dioma, first paid a well-deserved tribute to the teachers for the good performances achieved during the past school year.Before wishing them frank and constructive discussions during this conference, Ourobè Dioma promised to strengthen the dynamics of supporting the schools in his commune.Source: Burkina Information Agency
