Ambassador Daouda Bitié Reaffirms His Support for Burkinabe Media Actors

Beijing: His Excellency Daouda Bitié, Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the People's Republic of China, received a delegation of Burkinabe media promoters and managers undergoing training in the Chinese capital on Saturday in Beijing. On this occasion, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives in the communications and cultural sectors within the framework of Sino-Burkinabe cooperation.According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation, led by the Chargé de mission of the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pascal Yemboini Thiombiano, included thirteen individuals comprising heads of press agencies, audiovisual and online media, print media, and cinema administration. The delegation engaged with the diplomat to discuss the seminar's objectives, which aimed at enhancing the capacities of communication stakeholders, fostering international partnerships for content exchange, and acquiring technical equipment and materials.The head of the delegation praised the ongoing support from the Burkina Faso Embassy in China and Ambassador Bitié's personal dedication to promoting cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized the quality of diplomacy that has facilitated access to training, equipment, and collaboration opportunities for Burkinabe media.Delegation members also shared their expectations, highlighting challenges related to equipment, the international visibility of Burkinabe content and productions, and the establishment of partnerships with Chinese media and associations. In response, Ambassador Daouda Bitié welcomed the media executives' initiative and reassured them of the diplomatic representation's readiness to support their efforts.He discussed the numerous opportunities presented by cooperation with China, noting that the country's dynamism and development model serve as an inspiration for Burkina Faso. A total of 22 Burkinabe media executives are participating in the international seminar, which is taking place from May 8 to 28, 2025, in Beijing, organized by the government of the People's Republic of China.
