AstraZeneca equips Tunisian hospitals with 7 nebulisation stations for children with asthma

AstraZeneca has equipped several Tunisian public hospitals with 7 nebulisation stations for the treatment of children suffering from asthma. In a press release published Monday, the company said 50 nebulisers had been installed in these rooms, as part of its project to improve the management of paediatric asthma in collaboration with public hospitals, bearing in mind that asthma in children is a chronic disease affecting between 3.5 and 4 pc of children in Tunisia. These nebulisation rooms provide an isolated space in which patients can benefit from medical services and receive the necessary treatment. The space can accommodate between 7 and 10 patients simultaneously. Five more nebulisation rooms were also set up in other major Tunisian hospitals, such as the Yasminet hospital in Ben Arous (7 nebulisers), the Farhat Hached hospital in Sousse (6 nebulisers) and the Hédi Chaker hospital in Sfax (6 nebulisers). Two other nebulising rooms have been installed at the Djerba and Gabès hospitals, and are now fully operational. AstraZeneca's President for the Near East and Maghreb, Sami Scandar, this is the first measure taken by the company in Tunisia, aimed at strengthening emergency care services, particularly in situations of acute asthma attacks and other respiratory illnesses. For her part, Leila Mrad, Managing Director of AsraZeneca in Tunisia, said that this project would enable the company to respond more effectively to emergency cases in public hospitals.
