Ouagadougou: The population offers radio sets and raincoats, with a total value of 1,998,750 FCFA to the VDPsSolenzo, July 9, 2024 (AIB) - A delegation from the population of Solenzo presented Tuesday a donation of 260 raincoats and 15 radio sets , with a total value of 1,998,750 FCFA, to the Volunteers for the Defense of the homeland ( VDP ) of the municipality of Solenzo.The donation was delivered this Tuesday, July 9 morning to the central police station in Solenzo.According to the donors ' spokesperson , Honoré Coulibaly , this donation is equivalent to a value of 1,317,000 FCFA for the raincoats and 681,750 FCFA for the 15 walkie-talkies.' We are in rainy weather . We need these raincoats to protect ourselves in order to find the terrorists and destroy them. We also gave walkie-talkies so that we could communicate because until now we are afraid. Our villages must cultivate and we must support the VDPs to help farmers in their fields , ' added the spokesperson for the donors , Mr. Coulibaly.The municipal manager of the VDP , Gomssida Sankara , expressed his gratitude to the population who continues to provide them with support whenever they need it.' This equipment will allow us to stay in the rain without fear and continue our security mission ,' he concluded .Source: Burkina Information Agency
