Bazèga: The student, Benjamine Congo, was crowned winner of the primary school reading competition in the basic education district of Doulougou in Bazèga, held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Goumcé.According to Burkina Information Agency, the 7th edition of the primary school reading competition took place in the basic education district (CEB) of the commune of Doulougou, Bazèga province. The competition, an initiative by the French partners "Peuples solidaires" (Pso-05), aimed to engage seven schools in the CEB and foster a reading culture among students.Out of 14 candidates, evenly split between girls and boys from the CE2 class, Benjamine Congo from Gana school "A" emerged victorious with an impressive average score of 18 out of 20. The event was structured in two phases: reading a text and answering comprehension questions.Léon Bonkoungou, the local representative of "Pso-05," emphasized that the competition's intent was to encourage students to read. Mahamadi Kéré, representing the head of the CEB, praised the initiative, noting that it would enhance educational quality and promote a love for reading among students. Participants were rewarded with prizes such as school kits, bags, children's novels, and solar lamps.
