Bobo Mandarè custom: The college of chiefs welcomes the establishment of the day of May 15

Bobo-Dioulasso: The college of traditional customary chiefs bôbô mandarè hosted a press conference on Wednesday April 25, 2024 in Bobo-Dioulasso. At the heart of this meeting with media people, the celebration of May 15th decreed by the Burkinabè government.

Bôbô mandarè traditional leaders want to mark with a white stone the first edition of the day of May 15 dedicated to traditional customs and worship in Burkina Faso.

It is in this sense that the college of traditional customary leaders of this community puts the press in order to inform national public opinion and especially the political authorities of the existence of the bôbô mandarè customary authority which deals exclusively traditional rites and worship.

As such, the college duly welcomed the commemoration of this day.

‘This decision by the government is already historic, which allows us to fully assume responsibility from now on, as customary leaders responsible for traditions and worship,’ underlined the spokesperson for the college, Omer Sano

Listening to him, the college of traditional customary chiefs bôbô mandarè has existed for a very long time and is made up of all the traditional customary chiefs of the 100 bôbô mandarè villages.

‘The college aims, among other things, to establish an exchange of experience and reflections between members, the civic training of these members, solidarity between members and the defense of their customary and traditional interests,’ said hear Omer Sanou.

According to him, well before the celebration of the date of May 15, the college of traditional customary leaders has always taken care of rites and worship among the mandarè.

To this end, the college is planning a series of activities as part of the celebration of this day on May 15.

When asked by journalists how this day will be celebrated in the Mandarè community, the speakers indicated that a consultation is underway to determine the activities which will mark this day of customs and traditions with a white stone.
