The Council of Ministers adopted on Wednesday in Ouagadougou a decree establishing the conditions for carrying out book operator activities in Burkina Faso.In his report from the council of ministers on Wednesday, the Minister of State, Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo indicates that the book operator is a natural or legal person under private law , working in the book professions in particular publisher, printer, distributor, distributor, bookseller, librarian, e-commerce platform manager.He stressed that the exercise of activities as a book operator in Burkina Faso is subject to obtaining an approval, issued for a period of five (05) years, renewable.This decree aims, according to Minister Ouédraogo, to optimize the contribution of the book sector to the national economy through the improvement of the legal framework and the professionalization of this sector which has a strong potential for wealth creation.In the opinion of the Minister of State, the adop tion of this decree makes it possible to strengthen the structuring of the book sector, in accordance with the provisions of article 23 of law n°049/AN of November 18, 2019 on the orientation of the book and public reading sector in Burkina Faso.Source: Burkina Information Agency
