The Center for Economic and Social Policy Analysis (CAPES) inaugurated its new conference room this Friday and named it after its first executive director, Dr Elie Justin Ouédraogo.
"We wanted by this modest ceremony, to celebrate all of your works as a good man and to show you our gratitude for all that you have done for CAPES", declared the executive director of CAPES, Dr Victor Sanon to the location of the former head of the Institution.
According to him, the former executive director of CAPES has thought since 2004 that CAPES, for its sustainability, should have “its own seat, its own sleeping mat in a building that belongs to it”.
Dr Victor Sanon, spoke this Friday, in Ouagadougou, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new conference room called "Dr Elie Justin Ouédraogo Naaba Baoogo de Gourcy".
The conference room has 150 seats with all amenities (videos, sound projectors).
Dr. Victor Sanon recalled that Dr. Elie Justin Ouédraogo "was the first to have carried them on their backs, the first to have guided their steps, to have wiped their tears in the fine career that each of them was able to know at CAPES in as first executive director.
“He did everything so that we could have a building worthy of the institution represented by CAPES,” he added.
The director let it be understood that the initiator's vision was for CAPES to be an institution that welcomes intellectuals and a framework for experts.
For his part, the former executive director of CAPES, Dr Elie Justin Ouédraogo wished that this new room which bears his name be the place where will be held "debates going the direction of the day before, of the prospective for a secure Burkina Faso , reconciled, appeased avant-garde and developed”.
He added that this recognition goes to him but also to those who have been at his side all these years when it was necessary to fight to anchor the center for the analysis of economic and social policies in the institutional landscape of Burkina Faso.
The inauguration ceremony of the new CAPES conference room was followed by a conference under the theme "Advocacy for the State", led by the former President of the National Assembly, Soungalo Appolinaire Ouattara.
