Burkina Faso’s Communication Authority Challenges Mali Over Joliba TV Broadcast.

Ouagadougou: The Higher Council of Communication (CSC) of Burkina Faso has formally addressed concerns to its Malian counterpart following controversial comments aired on Joliba TV News. The broadcast, which took place on Sunday, featured remarks deemed offensive toward the Burkinabe people and their leaders.According to Burkina Information Agency, the incident occurred during the show "Rendez-vous des idées" on November 10, 2024. A guest on the program reportedly made derogatory comments about Burkina Faso's leadership, suggesting without evidence that recent destabilization attempts in the country were fabricated. These claims have been labeled as serious and potentially damaging to the nation's reputation.In response, Jean Louis Modeste Ouédraogo, President of Burkina Faso's CSC, has officially requested the High Authority of Communication (HAC) of Mali to address the issue appropriately. The CSC emphasized the importance of maintaining fraternal relations and supporting the collective dignity and inde pendence of the Sahel States and Guinea. The letter also highlighted the upcoming forum of regulators from the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) and Guinea, scheduled for December, as a timely initiative.
