Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government has announced its plan to acquire 500 buses at a cost of 44 billion 865 million FCFA. This initiative aims to improve mobility for citizens, specifically targeting pupils and students, as detailed in the minutes from the Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday.According to Burkina Information Agency, this acquisition is part of the "Presidential Initiative for Quality Education." The Council has approved contracts with transport company SANA Rasmané and WEND NA SONGDO INDUSTRIE SARL to facilitate this plan.The financing for the buses is being provided by the State with assistance from VISTA BANK. The primary goal of this acquisition is to enhance mobility for pupils and students while extending benefits to the broader population.The 500 buses will be managed by the Public Transport Company (SOTRACO), ensuring their integration into the public transport system.The 'Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All,' adopted by the Council of Ministers on June 20, focuses on improving educational conditions. The project comprises seven components, which include constructing, securing, standardizing, and modernizing educational infrastructure.
