The Union of Media Men of the North region set up on Saturday August 5, 2023 in Ouahigouya during a general assembly, a new executive office headed by a new President Idrissa Nacanabo.
The Union of Media Men of the North region, umbrella of information and communication actors from the four provinces of the region was in conclave this Saturday, August 05, 2023.
A new executive office of 6 people with 2 auditors has been put in place for a three-year term.
For the new elected president Idrissa Nacanabo, the holding of this general assembly was more than necessary. It allowed the members to understand the difficulties of operation, to do their self-criticism to breathe new life into the HUM/Nord, he underlined.
“I thank all media players in the region for the renewed trust. I remain open to constructive criticism, I make a commitment with the whole team to ensure better governance of the union and assume our duty of accountability to the members” indicated Mr. Nacanabo.
The outgoing office in its report has shown that in the current context of security crisis marked by the difficult mobility of several of its members, it has not been able to achieve some of its ambitions.
Despite the difficulties, the union has nevertheless consolidated its roots in the region, promoted training sessions for the benefit of its members and contributed to strengthening the bonds of collaboration and the spirit of solidarity between the members.
Before the establishment of the new office, the statutory members of the Union of Media Men of the North (UHM / N) took stock of the activities carried out since 2019 and proceeded to the rereading of the regulatory texts.
