The Minister of Infrastructure, Adama Luc Sorgho, visited on Saturday the assembly work of the emergency bridge in Tarfila, a locality located 8 km from Banfora.The aim is to assess the progress of the work, to encourage the technicians working in the field and to reassure local populations that traffic will be restored."I am here to congratulate the technicians for their dedication and hard work. This emergency bridge is essential to open up the region, and we are doing everything possible to complete the work as soon as possible," said the minister.Adama Luc Sorgho also praised the collaboration of the partners, whose support made it possible to maintain a temporary diversion route, thus guaranteeing the continuity of traffic.While expressing satisfaction with the progress made, he urged the technical teams to redouble their efforts to complete the project as soon as possible.The head of the department in charge of Infrastructure also announced several measures aimed at sustainably improving the n ational road network.According to him, this involves strengthening the monitoring of infrastructure, training agents and creating technical brigades.The minister also mentioned the acquisition of mobile bridges for each region, the rehabilitation of the Bobo-Banfora axis up to the Ivorian border and the asphalting of the Orodara-Banfora road.Following heavy rains on October 6, 7 and 8, 2024, the Tarfila bridge gave way under the weight of the water, cutting the road in two.A diversion route was made to restore traffic, before the installation of a temporary metal bridge.Source: Burkina Information Agency
