Tenkodogo: The association of Gourounsi of Tenkodogo, known as "Gnina Piadoui," organized the 48 Hours of Gourounsi culture over the weekend, aiming to strengthen unity among its members. This cultural celebration, now in its third edition, highlighted the vibrant Gourounsi culture through music, dance, and culinary experiences.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Christophe Bali Bayala, the secretary general of the association, emphasized the importance of such events in fostering community unity and social cohesion. He expressed pride in the initiative's continuity, underscoring the need for community members to better understand each other and remain vigilant in their collective management.
The event, themed "Gourounsi Culture, an identity and patriotic base for social cohesion in Burkina Faso," gathered the Gourounsi, Bissa, Peulh, and Moaga communities in Tenkodogo. Adama Kambon©, representing the event's sponsor, highlighted the role of these cultural days in celebrating the diversity and identity of the communities in the Center-East region. He stressed that beyond music and dance, the event also celebrated values such as patriotism, peace, and social cohesion.
The two-day celebration featured traditional music, dance, and the tasting of local dishes, showcasing the culinary richness of the region. The festivities aimed to strengthen community ties, promote the Gourounsi cultural identity, and advocate for peace and national unity.
The 3rd edition of this cultural event was celebrated under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Region, with co-sponsorship from the Mission Officer to the Presidency of Faso for the Central-Eastern Region.
