Burkina: Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko on 48-Hour Visit

Ouagadougou: Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko arrived in Ouagadougou late Friday morning for a 48-hour official visit that will include the inauguration of the Thomas Sankara Mausoleum and summit meetings, AIB learned. During his stay, Mr. Sonko will meet with the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, and his Burkinabe counterpart, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Senegalese head of government's agenda also includes a meeting with the Senegalese community living in Burkina Faso, as well as an interview with RTB, the national public television station. On Saturday, he will take part in the inauguration ceremony of the mausoleum of President Thomas Sankara, who was assassinated in 1987. A summit meeting between delegations from the two countries is also planned, followed by a press statement.

The Senegalese Prime Minister is accompanied, among others, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and African Integration, Yassine Fall, the Minister of the Armed Forces, Birame Diop, and the Minister of Sports, Khady Di¨ne.
