Burkina: Terrorists killed in Mansila and Aorema by the Combatant Forces

Ouagadougou: The Combatant Forces carried out operations this weekend in the areas of Mansila (Yagha) and Aorema (Yatenga) which allowed them to kill several terrorists and recover motorcycles and weapons, the AIB learned. On Saturday May 4, 2024, lookouts learned of an imminent attack in Mansila, in the Yagha province, Sahel region. Alerted, the air vectors actually spotted criminals prowling around the locality. As if they had sensed a presence, the terrorists began to run to take refuge under a large tree. The air operators then fired a missile at their hideout, consuming several terrorists and their devices in a large fire. The two survivors will not go far because rapid intervention companies from the 5th and 9th Rapid Intervention Battalions will pick them up. The Combatant Forces will also comb the entire area in order to recover any equipment that can still be used. Earlier on the night of Friday May 3 to Saturday May 4, 2024, attackers targeted a position of the mixed marching battalion of the volunteer brigade for the Defense of the Fatherland in Aorema in the Ouahigouya area. The Fighting Forces, thanks to their firepower, will force them to flee, some of them abandoning their motorcycles. The fugitives will camouflage themselves five kilometers further under a large tree before being joined by their acolytes who were able to escape with their machines. This is the moment chosen by an air vector to launch a missile at the attackers. Many of them will die in a furnace with their machines while survivors move away. On Saturday, at first light, the mixed battalion went after them and took advantage of the opportunity to seize war material. According to AIB sources, operations continue on all fronts to ultimately bring peace and security. Source: Burkina Information Agency
