On the occasion of the celebration of the year 6260 Kamit, the movement "Two hours for us, Two for Kamita" invited, Wednesday during a press conference, the Burkinabè and Africans to a celebration in sobriety.
"We invite Burkinabè and African citizens as well as our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to appropriate and celebrate the Kamit (African) New Year in sobriety", declared the secretary general of the framework "Two hours for us, Two for Kamita”, Imhotep Serge Bayala.
Mr. Bayala was speaking on Wednesday in Ouagadougou, during a press conference which helped to roll out the Kamit New Year celebration program.
He gave an appointment to the press and to all the populations, "July 19, 2023 at the Joseph KI-ZERBO University (under the blow of 2 p.m. in the A600 amphitheater) to mark New Year's Day 6260”.
As a prelude to the celebration of the African New Year's Day 6260, the framework provides for the organization of Sankoré 8 University, the second year in a row, in the city of Koudougou, Imhotep Serge Bayala informed.
"Such a choice finds its motivation in the need for national anchoring of the symbolism of the celebration of the African calendar," he said.
Sankoré 8 University will be held for five (05) days from July 14 to 18 in Koudougou, around the general theme: “Culture, liberation struggle and construction of the nation state”.
Mr. Bayala underlined “that no people can flourish outside of its culture, because culture is transversal and it nourishes the struggles for emancipation. Burkina must light the flame of socio-cultural diversity”.
One of the major innovations of this edition will be the introduction of an inaugural conference on July 14, 2023 at Norbert Zongo University in Koudougou.
The conference hosted by the President of the Superior Council of Communication (CSC) Abdoulazize Bamogo, around the theme: "Media and youth: building responsible citizenship in times of crisis".
According to Imhotep Serge Bayala, "the teams of the organizing committee in Koudougou and Ouagadougou are currently hard at work for the success of the inaugural conference, the rest of the activities of Sankoré 8 University and the celebration of the New Year. Kamit”.
