Burkina/Yatenga: terrorists mix with animals to escape strikes

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabè army carried out strikes yesterday, Monday, against terrorists who came to steal livestock in Barga, in Yatenga. Other targets were also hit in Tapoa, according to security sources contacted by the AIB on Tuesday. Yesterday, Monday May 6, 2024, terrorists came to steal livestock in Barga (Ouahigouya area, Yatenga) before fleeing to the North. However, the vigilance of aerial operators made it possible to find them a little further away, installed under trees and in groups. A precise drone strike hit the largest group in the heart. Panicked, the survivors from the other groups quickly mingled with the stolen animals to try to escape... except that the operations continued. The same day, around 6 p.m., air vectors were alerted of two simultaneous attacks in Dio, near Ouahigouya, and at Tapoa barrage, in Tapoa. In Dio, the column of criminals fleeing, after burning houses, was quickly spotted. The air operators launched a first missile into the middle of the column, leading to a make-or-break effort. A second missile targeted the head of the convoy to stop their progress. Then, several strikes followed until the column was annihilated. At Tapoa dam, violent fighting pitted the fighting forces against the assassins. Faced with the determination of the armed forces, the criminals fled towards Tounga, about ten kilometers north of Diapaga. In Tounga, the terrorists thought they were sheltering under a large tree, until they were effectively hit by a missile. Source: Burkina Information Agency
