Cape Verde # Burkina Faso: “5 major players absent” from Velud’s list

The coach of Etalons du Burkina Faso Hubert Velud unveiled Wednesday in Ouagadougou, a list of 25 players without 5 players considered as “major players” of the team, for the match of the 5th day of the CAN 2023 qualifiers, Cape Verde against Burkina Faso.

Stallions coach Hubert Velud unveiled his list during a press conference without the names of Issa Kaboré (suspended) and Franck Lassina Traoré, Mohamed Konaté, Abdoul Razack Guiébré, Nassim Innocenti (injured).

In this group 3 new players are appearing. They are Mohamed Zégué Traoré (AS Douanes, Burkina Faso), Sacha Jordan Bansé (Standard de Liège, Belgium), Ismaël Libo Seoné (Vitesse FC, Burkina Faso).

The Stallions have already qualified for the final stages of the CAN, but coach Velud is going to Praia in the Cape Verdean capital with the aim of “seeking first place in the group for the two remaining matches”.

"If we are seeded, it will be good," added the mentor of the Burkina Faso pennant team Hubert Velud.

“We are going to prepare well, even if the match will be in somewhat unusual conditions (the pitch in Cape Verde is synthetic with a lot of wind). You will have to adapt. We are going to do so, in our organization, that we are ready to play this match in better conditions, ”he added.

The regrouping of the team is scheduled for June 11 and the first training the next day. The June 13 range rehearsal is open to the public at the Issoufou Joseph Conombo municipal stadium (4:30 p.m.). It is on June 14 that the Stallions will fly to Praia to play on June 18 against the Blue Sharks.
